His journey began early — at just 11 years old, he was already working with power tools. After high school, Colin served in the Marine Corps, achieving the highest swim qualification the military offers.
His construction career launched in 1998 when he transitioned out of service and moved to the San Francisco Bay Area, where he worked in commercial construction during the city's major building boom of the 2000s. After the market crash in 2008, he returned to Southern California, focusing on residential remodels before heading back north to work as a Journeyman Carpenter on large-scale commercial and multi-family projects.
Driven by a desire to grow professionally, Colin enrolled at the University of California, Berkeley, completing night and weekend classes in Construction Management — ultimately earning a place on the Dean's List with a Certificate in Construction Management. By 2014, he had moved into senior management, overseeing completion teams on a $650 million bio labs project.
In 2023, Colin made a deliberate shift — stepping away from high-pressure, long-hour commercial work to focus on building meaningful spaces closer to home.
