After relocating to California in 2007, Nathan recognized a gap in the market for quality backyard structures built with the same craftsmanship associated with Amish builders in Pennsylvania. In August 2009, Backyard Unlimited partnered with Amish artisans from Lancaster County to become California's first local supplier of authentic, Amish-made sheds and backyard structures.
