"I never write bad reviews, but Tilson has forced my hand with this one. When going over building details in the paperwork we stated we wanted our drawers installed with NO hardware so that we could install custom ones of our own style choice afterwards. We were still charged for their hardware even though we wouldnt be receiving it, which we accepted. Whoever installed the drawer fronts for Tilson drilled holes into the drawer fronts and installed the hardware even though the paperwork said not to. So we were left with single hole drilled drawer fronts when we wanted double hole, handle style hardware of our choice. We discussed with Tilson and they agreed to replace the drawer fronts. After about 6 months we finally had our replacement drawer fronts, which were not the same color. The man who was installing them pointed it out to me before he continued installing all the other fronts. I agreed they were NOT a close color match. So he took one of the original fronts to use as a color match and left the replacement that was the wrong color. Another 6 months passed with no communication from Tilson. We were extremely patient with them and only reached out about 3 times during that 6 month period. We finally had enough and expressed how unsatisfied we were with their customer service and they finally returned with new replacements after a years time. When the man arrived with the new replacements there was one drawer front missing from the order it ironically happened to be the same size drawer front that they left the first time that was the wrong color. Additionally, after closer inspection, the new replacements had multiple scratches and damage done to them. They didnt seem very new. They looked as if they had been sitting in a garage somewhere and had been stacked and handled multiple times. I suspected they could very likely be the first set of replacements. Talk about unprofessional. In addition to this issue, they never finished a number of other items on the punch list, which at this point Im almost certain they will not ever fix as they promised. In the end I ask them to just reinstall the originals with the incorrect hardware that at least matched. I hope that they will make good on their end and offer us some sort of money back for the trouble and unprofessionalism."

"We went into contract with Tilson last April. At that time, we paid our earnest money and were told the building process would start in September. We were told we would be in our home by the end of December 2021. We went months and months with no contact from Tilson. When they did get in contact they had excuses as to why things werent moving forward. The only work done on the property was a survey and stake out. In November, Tilson contacted us to inform us they were canceling our contract. Integrity aside the company feels justified in keeping our earnest money- when they are the ones cancelling the contract. After reading all of the negative posts about Tilson- it appears we dodged a major bullet."

"Installed cabinets that were not correct. Changed cabinet companies and insist they are the correct ones. Since we live on sight we were able to catch a great deal of mistakes before it was too late. Home is not completed yet and already I have buyers remorse. Our whole house color scheme is gray and yet the cabinets are brown. They are also substandard I could buy better at Home Depot!. Now we will have to pay thousands to get them the correct color. Too many issues."

"Incredibly disappointed with Tilsons service. I have waited so long and worked so hard to be in the position to build my familys home and I wasted months of my time with Tilson. We even signed a contract but Tilson backed out of it because of a pond that used to be on my lot. This decision was made without even testing the dirt at all. We went ahead and paid a lab to get the area tested in 6 spots and all results indicated the dirt was good and compacted for building. While my experience has been unpleasant, I will say that Patricia at the Angleton was great. Unfortunately, I dont see myself sharing any good feedback on Tilson down the road, especially when weve selected a true custom builder who has exceeded the expectations weve set. If youre looking for a custom home, Tilson is not what youre looking for. A custom home isnt choosing the 3 options the builder give you and upgrading 20 levels when you decide you dont want any of those options, its getting the exact product you want for a fair price. I hope others get a better experience than we did."

"Tilson refused to help me with the crappie Job the electrician did on my house of 6 years , and my ac broke down and I had to replace the whole unit myself out of pocket, Christy Reyes never returns my calls. I would not recommend Tilson to built anyone house they kiss butt while your building but then afterwards when things go wrong they dont want anything to do with you. And what sad this is my second home I built w them. Had no problem w my first but second home has a lot of issues, bad paint job the floors were not done right, the kitchen island was slanted and the kitchen cabinets took forever to get right ,I wish I had went w another builder, my lights still makes the breaker goes off ,Tilson is the sorriest builders I know at this point ."
