About Roper Buildings

Adding an Extra Living Space to Your Property with Roper Buildings

Roper Buildings specializes in designing and constructing custom accessory dwelling units (ADUs) for residential properties. As an experienced ADU contractor, they work with homeowners looking to add flexible living space to their property — whether that's a guest house, a rental unit, or a dedicated home office.

An ADU is generally considered a practical investment, offering additional utility to a property without requiring a full-scale construction project. Roper Buildings approaches each project with a focus on customizable design, durable materials, and compliance with local zoning regulations.

What Roper Buildings Offers

As an ADU builder, Roper Buildings provides a range of options to suit different needs and property types. Their services are designed to accommodate various use cases, including:

  1. Housing for aging family members or in-law suites
  2. Private guest accommodations
  3. Rental income opportunities
  4. Home offices or hobby spaces

Roper Buildings works with clients to develop designs that fit their specific requirements — from compact studio layouts to larger two-bedroom units. Their team also assists with navigating local zoning laws, which can vary significantly depending on the location of the project.

One feature they offer is a custom virtual design tool, which allows homeowners to visualize and plan their ADU before construction begins. This can be a useful step in clarifying expectations and refining the design early in the process.

In terms of materials, Roper Buildings states that they use eco-friendly and durable materials, with an emphasis on energy efficiency and long-term performance. Their construction process is described as efficient, aiming to reduce build times compared to more traditional approaches.

Service Areas

Roper Buildings operates across multiple states, providing ADU construction services in the following locations:

  1. Idaho — Taking advantage of flexible zoning laws to support property improvements
  2. Utah — Building ADUs that comply with local codes while expanding living options
  3. Wyoming — Constructing versatile units suited for guests, hobbies, or rental income
  4. Nevada — Offering streamlined ADU solutions for both personal and rental use
  5. Arizona — Designing energy-efficient units suited to the local climate and lifestyle

Because ADU regulations differ from state to state — and sometimes city to city — Roper Buildings provides location-specific guidance to help homeowners understand what's possible within their area. This regional knowledge can be particularly valuable for homeowners who are unfamiliar with local permitting requirements.

For those considering adding a detached ADU, granny flat, or similar structure to their property, Roper Buildings offers an initial consultation to discuss project goals and explore design options. Their virtual design tool is also available for homeowners who want to start exploring ideas before committing to a full consultation.

"I have had my shop for almost 10 years absolutely love it. Roper Buildings was so good to work with from start to finish. They worked with the city to get the permits and meet all building codes for final inspection. They do top notch work and are very proficient, it was completed very fast and they bent over backwards to make sure everything was done to my liking. I have referred many people that have stopped by to check it out one of my neighbor was so jealous all my toys are out of the weather he dropped by and now he has one too. I can't say enough about Roper Buildings if you are in the market for a shop, barn or a big inclosed building make sure you give Roper Buildings a call. Mine is 42 wide by 54 deep with 2 14ft by 14ft roll up door."

"Roper building's are made to high quality standards, all my concerns were promptly resolved, garage was completed way ahead of schedule, Kandi's is Awesome! Update- This month Aug 2024 I contacted Jeff and asked if Roper does repair work. Within one week I was put on their schedule! Jose and his amazing crew, repaired my barn after our large tree fell on it causing cosmetic damage. They were on time, finished promptly and very friendly to work with. We are very pleased they built us a strong beautiful building able to withstand the impact of a heavy tree! Knowing Roper has our back when mishaps occur, gives us peace of mind and satisfaction you can count on! Thanks again for great customer service and resolution of an otherwise unpleasant misfortune. We highly recommend Roper buildings!!!"

"From the first phone call I should have known this project and build of our shop was going to be fun. I reached out to Brett, the first thing he said was you know these arent cheap to build right? Well buddy I wouldnt be calling if I didnt have the money. I feel like thats because I was a female who called and inquired. Then comes many different parts and people to get it going and designs sent in. I do believe my better half played some part of this and didnt communicate as should have. Then comes the build of the shop. My better half is a construction worker and understands blue prints and layouts more than I do. Although I was paying for the project I left him in charge of creating the image and getting the build going. I did ask they directly bill me. Well once again they didnt pull through and all the bills went to my better half. Leaving him to forward them to me. This is even after emailing and asking Norm and Quin to send them to me personally. No response after I emailed and asked them. Then we begin with the build and process. As they brought in the Skid Steer and the porta potty for employees. Both tearing ruts in the backyard. We have asked several times for them to be fixed and the yard put back into place as it was before they started project. Emails and or conversations with Quin and promises made to come out and take care of it still havent happened. We have also asked for a walk through as there are portions of the roof not complete. Now we have water coming through and photos have been sent. With no response from Quin again the project manager. Dont get me wrong the shop looks great. But when you pay the money you do for a building you want it to be completed as expected just like a house. There will be valuables stored in this building and it should be free from harm in a new building. It would be nice to get the response and the quality of what we have paid for. Or even a considerate response and walk thru if the project from the project manager. The communication from management has been less than expected. Photos have been sent and again no desire to make it right. Such a beautiful shop but with less than quality in the build. They still owe us road base around it as paid for and promised. As well as the puddles that have leaked in a 2 month old build should be fixed to what was paid for and promised. No one should ever have to fight for 2-3 months to get what was paid for and promised. If it was a house it wouldnt be tolerated."

"I can't say enough about your entire team!! From start to finish you all have been exceptional! We were able to watch as the crew came out daily and worked away in the hot sun. I'm sure they kept wondering who the weirdo was taking all the pictures and videos. They always showed the upmost respect for us, our property, and the craftsmanship of the build. Amos was amazing to work with. His communication was always in point and deadlines were laid out in front of us. If they couldn't be met, Amos was quick to notify us of it, and when it might be. Like I said, we couldn't be happier with our Roper Building! Thank you so much from The Hansen's!!!"
