"We have now been in our new house for a week, and we wholeheartedly love our home. It feels like an extension of our family. "We are new to the Charlottesville area and did a lot of research on home builders. We are very fortunate and could not have partnered with a better builder! Mike and Isobel and the Charlottesville Area Builder team are the consummate professionals. From the initial site walk of our future home, to listening to our ideas, recommending products, answering our questions and providing us with weekly progress updates Mike and Isobel were there every step of every day for our home build. From the very beginning as we worked with them to design our home, Mike and Isobel took the time to listen and understand our vision, asked us lots of questions about our family and lifestyle and drew on their many years of homebuilding experience to provide relevant recommendations. They were very transparent with the cost of the build, provided a range of product options and itemized all the materials. We also valued that they tested products in their own home and shared their experience with us. We found this very helpful when we needed to make decisions for our home. They have an acute attention to detail and will not accept anything that is not up to their high standards. For example, our refrigerator had a slight dent at the bottom. "Entering the "new-home-construction" process was a bit intimidating because we've never built a home before! Everyone had always told me that building a home was a nightmare, but working with Isobel and Mike from Charlottesville Area Builders was a dream. We sat down with them in July of 2021 to discuss each room of the house, and our vision for it. We had no idea the amount of detail that went into building a home, but Isobel and Mike were there with us every step and every room! of the way. They were able to show us other houses they had built to give us an idea of options we could work withchoose from... things we didn't know could be done! Isobel certainly led the way in design and helped select several options all different price points, too! that she thought we would like, all while keeping our overall vision of the house in mind. Isobel and Mike also ordered our appliances with plenty of notice so that everything was in place upon the final walkthrough we have several new-construction neighbors without appliancescabinetshardware who used different builders and moved in months before we did!. Construction started in January of 2022, and we just moved in on October 16th, 2022. It seemed like every time we snuck out to the house, Isobel and Mike were there working, too, making sure everything was going to plan. They never hesitated to walkthrough the house with us to answer any questions we had. Zane was our project supervisor and for any issue that popped up, he had an immediate solution we really did not have many issues!. He is very knowledgeable and he is great to work with. He did a wonderful job on our home. I would highly recommend Charlottesville Area Builders for you and your custom home dreams. What we thought were only "fun ideas", Mike and Isobel actually made them come true! They are entirely positive individuals, supremely professional, and outstanding in their craft.
