"I recently completed a full home remodel in the Bay Area with MK Construction Group, and I highly recommend them if youre looking for a reliable Bay Area remodel contractor. They transformed my outdated 1960s home into a modern, functional space while maintaining excellent craftsmanship throughout the project. Biggest updates in my remodel were relocating my kitchen, removing walls to accomodate a great room, updating bathrooms, new flooring and doors, etc. Although MK Construction is not a full-service design firm you will need to work with an outside designer for full layout and aesthetic plans, they provided outstanding functional design guidance in partnership with my designer. They advised on smart, experience-driven details like, but not limited to: Selecting a waterfall island edge that wouldnt restrict legroom Recommending vanity sizes to accommodate toilet placement in the bathrooms Sound proofing rooms to reduce noise across the house HVAC installation to ensure proper heating and cooling throughout the home Providing input on spacing, flow, and practical everyday use Their crew paid close attention to details they corrected tile alignment issues, replaced electrical outlets when needed, and verified every material installation. Communication was exceptional, as Mike was on site everyday to oversee or conduct the work himself. I received daily updates, walkthroughs, and clear explanations of progress and next steps. "MK construction did a great job for us. We highly recommend them. Mike and Kristina take care to follow all the details and to ensure that they communicate continuously with us. Mike handles the on-site work. Kristina manges the office including scheduling and billing and follow up. Our project was to completely redo the tile in our shower. We had developed a leak in the shower floor tile and determined that it was best to completely redo the tile. From the start MK Construction was prompt and responsive. Kristina scheduled an appointment for Mike to visit to give us an estimate within a few days of our call. Mike was on right on time, took measurements, discussed options with us. Within a few days we had an email and text with a complete estimate. Once we had picked out our new tile and fixtures, we called Kristina to schedule the project. We started about 2 weeks later. As promised it took about 7 days to complete the project. Mike was able to accommodate our schedule which required a 2 day break in his work as we were not available. We received daily texts confirming the work schedule and Mike always communicated fully to us his plans and work schedule. Mike worked quickly, professionally and kept to his schedule. It was a pleasure to have Mike working in our home. He is always pleasant and friendly and focused on the work. Demo was done in one day and thoroughly cleaned up. The prep work over the next few days was neatly and competently completed. Mike discussed options with us along the process so we understood our choices and he provided great advice on how to maximize our small space. This shower is very small and compact so working within the confines of the space was not simple. The new shower is such an improvement. The tile installation in the shower is beautiful and such an improvement. Mike skillfully to recreated the tile molding that formed the arched entrance to the shower. One of our requirements was that we maintain the existing bathroom tile flooring. Through the whole process of demo and installation, Mike cared for this detail. MK Construction completed our project with care and attention just as we expected. We recommend MK Construction for any projects, small or large."
