2025-08-25"I'm not sure why my experience with Boss PDX was so different from the other people who have used them. I hired them in April 2024 for a garage renovation to an ADU and the project finished 8 months later! The permits took a while - that was out of their control - but for the remainder of the project, they were not prompt. In fact, they often didn't show up for days on end except when a check was expected; then they were prompt. Their communication was not good for me. Their billing was not transparent and toward the end I received a change order for 22 more than what I was originally quoted.
I had an outside designer and I think that threw them for a loop.
The quality of work at the end was not what I was hoping for - including installing shelves that no normal height human can reach. The bathroom wasn't finished with paint, the toilet holder wasn't hung - I had 3 windows with handles, and one handle was in a different orientation, so needed a different one - so they just left the handle that didn't fit on the window sill. I ordered and bought the correct handle after they left and installed it myself. They didn't put purchased screens on my windows they were left at the warehouse and several months later I called and the window company delivered them to me and I installed them myself. When doing some of my plumbing, they decided to turn off permanently a plumbing line to my back yard without asking if I would want that used in the future, which then shut off the water to my only bathroom and kitchen for a day - so they fixed it. The microwave outlet was installed underneath my microwave in the middle of my tile backsplash, instead of just behind the microwave so it was hidden. I literally could go on...
I had no opportunity for a walk through to discuss these mishaps with them at the end of the project at that point, I just wanted them off my property!
It is a beautiful space, but I can not recommend this group."

2025-07-31"I was walking my Dog past one of their projects when I decided to stop and enquire about an exterior plumbing issue I was having at my house. Rob offered to come over right then and take a look. When he saw what was needed to be done, he ran back to his work site, grabbed a few tools, and just took care of it for me. When I asked how much I owed him, he said it was nothing and his pleasure to help. I will definitely be using Boss PDX for any work I need done to my home moving forward."

2025-04-09"It went incredible! We hired them to turn our garage into a home gym, they were very communicative and worked with us on every step of the project.
One event that showcased their attention to detail, I had chosen an exterior doorknob, and at one point they called me out and said "just to be sure, the handle looks a bit low, you positive you want us to use that?" And they were completely right, it was designed for like a bank's double-doors, I'd have had to crouch every time I opened it. So they nipped over to the store, found an alternate that was perfect, and installed it after I signed off. They absolutely could have just used the original and gotten away with it, but they cared about the project getting done in a way that was fully-functional and that I'd be happy about!
Audi was the project lead and primary form of contact, and she always went above and beyond keeping us in the loop and keeping the project moving forward. In the end it was finished faster than expected, with several roadblocks effortlessly worked around, and with a wonderful final result! I love my new garage and will absolutely be hiring BossPDX for any future home renovation projects!"

2022-02-15"BOSS did our new bathroom last year and some dormer repair for us this year; we'll probably have them do our kitchen build next year. They do very smooth, detailed work and are reasonably priced, but what really stands out is their communication: clear, nuanced answers to questions about both estimates and construction; advance notice of anything changing although the schedule never changed by more than a day here and there; generous explanation of anything potentially confusing. They were always here when they said they would be; their setup was compact and didn't impinge on the rest of our small house; they cleaned up daily and at the end, so we weren't living in dust. Really everything you would want to feel confident about people working on your home."
