"Barb is brilliant and absolutely inspiring. Shes passionate about this work, safety-focused in the workshop, and fiercely dedicated to the mission and those are qualities worth celebrating. Her strong leadership style is often praised in men, and it deserves the same respect here. She doesnt waste time or compromise on safety, which is why their safety record is impeccable. Volunteers of all experience levels, including folks who have never touched a power tool before, leave with new skills and the knowledge to use them responsibly. Thats pretty incredible. The Hope Factory actually delivers real impact, not lip service. The progress being made across Seattle and in other cities following Barbs lead is meaningful and visible. As someone who has experienced poverty and homelessness, I dont take that lightly. Barbs leadership comes from a place of competence, love, and urgency because peoples lives depend on it. If you show up ready to learn, listen, and be part of something genuine, you will have an incredibly rewarding experience here. Bring curiosity, keep an open mind and maybe leave your ego at the door. "

"Great mission and amazing work done by all the volunteers. The staff member, Barb, who leads the program and the volunteer orientation spoke very rudely to everyone throughout the day. Clearly shes very knowledgeable and passionate about building homes, but her attitude towards volunteers made me want to leave at the start of the day. Once we were set up with our team leads and she was no longer talking to us, the workday was actually very enjoyable. If you do decide to volunteer, please be advised about Barb. I hope your experience isnt tainted by her demeaning commentary like it did for me and others in my group."

"Amazing opportunity for volunteers to give back to society. The factory is a well oiled process of building and delivering tiny homes for the homeless. They are passionate about build quality and safety."

"This place is great. I recently volunteered to help build a tiny home that will be used in a village to help people struggling with homelessness. The people here are great and are doing amazing work. I highly recommend donating financially or your time to help their cause."
