About The Home Boys

The Home Boys: Manufactured and ADU Home Solutions

The Home Boys operates as Washington State's largest volume manufactured home dealer, providing new homes across a broad regional footprint that includes Washington, Idaho, Oregon, Montana, and Alaska. Their inventory focuses on homes under 1,200 square feet, which can qualify as accessory dwelling units depending on local regulations in the buyer's area.

Their business model centers on factory-direct pricing, meaning customers purchase new homes straight from the manufacturer without additional markups typically associated with traditional retail channels. This approach is intended to make homeownership and ADU placement more accessible for a range of buyers.

Home Brands and Product Lines

The Home Boys carries an extensive selection of manufactured and modular home brands. Their current lineup includes homes from the following manufacturers:

  1. Goldenwest Homes — including the Inspiration Gold Series, Platinum Series, and Dream Silver Series
  2. Marlette Homes — featuring the Marlette Special, Majestic, Columbia River, Independence Series, Canyon View, Summit View, Imagine, and Tempo lines
  3. Schult Homes (under Clayton Homes)
  4. Karsten Homes
  5. Clayton Homes (Tempo)
  6. Cavco Homes Millersburg (formerly Palm Harbor Homes) — including the 400 Series, American Dream Series, Homestead Series, Olympus Series, Paradise Series, and American Freedom Series
  7. Cavco Homes Nampa (formerly Fleetwood Homes of Idaho) — including the Broadmore, Barrington, Dakota, Waverly Crest Prestige series

ADU and Park Model Options

In addition to standard manufactured and modular homes, The Home Boys also offers park model homes. For buyers exploring accessory dwelling unit options — such as a backyard cottage, granny flat, or in-law suite — their inventory of smaller footprint homes may be worth considering, provided local zoning and regulations permit placement on the intended property.

Because what qualifies as an ADU varies by jurisdiction, prospective buyers are encouraged to verify local requirements before selecting a unit. The Home Boys serves a wide geographic area, making them a regional option for those looking into manufactured ADU solutions across the Pacific Northwest and beyond.

"The buying experience was amazing. Tad was wonderful, patient and explained everything to the best of his knowledge. Bumps come along the way with any build and that is to be expected but he took our bumps with grace and never let my husband and I feel like we were a bother. I do highly recommend The Home Boys and working with Tad. He will treat you like gold."

"We purchased a new house in July of 2025 from The Home Boys, after reading all the reviews we thought we would be in the new place by January 2026. To our surprise, the contractors had our home in place around Thanksgiving and we were able to finally move in Christmas Day. Lex was great to work with and the contractors Daniel and his brother were amazing. We had a couple issues but Lex and Marisol made sure all was taken care of right away. We would highly recommend The home Boys and Lex if you are looking for a place to buy a new home."

"Austin arrived and assessed several tasks that needed repairs. I was amazed at how quickly and efficiently they were competed. He then showed me everything he did and explained to me why we had issues. He is going to do some research and get back to me on the smoke detectors. Very happy with his service. Melanie"

"BATE AND SWITCH Worth the read. You may not get what you ordered. We didn't! Although all the tradesmen who have been out here to transform this hulk into our home deserves five stars, their management team ruined this review for them. BATE AND SWITCH!! POOR COMMUNICATION!! LIARS, LIARS, LIARS!! The railing around the front porch is supposed to be finished grade cedar, it is Douglas fir of very poor quality. The kitchen and bathroom backsplashs are supposed to be fancy, they are very plain tile. The bedroom windows are supposed to have valances, they are missing. The living room, dining room and kitchen are supposed to have cornices that match the hickory cabinetry, they're made of floor baseboards turned upside down. We asked HB to change the above issues and were told that the factory reserves the right to change things. We were told by our salesman, Grant, that if anything was wrong with the house, HB would make it right. HB has refused to make any of it right. The "whole house fan" is actually a bathroom exhaust fan. It is rated at 90 cfm, a whole house fan for this size house 1,400 square feet is supposed to be 1350-1500 cfm. Because of HB mismanagement and stalling techniques, they pushed us into two penalty phases on our construction loan and gave us the keys just days before our third penalty phase was to kick in. In a vain attempt so sound reasonable, HB offered to bring corbels for the kitchen island and different pendant lights for over the island. The value of these two items is only a fraction of what it's going to cost to make this house what we ordered. We were so angry at this point, we told HB to keep them. We ordered our house with gas appliances and paid extra, a lot extra but wanted electrical service to their spaces in case we ever changed our minds. The house did not come equipped the way we ordered it. We hired an electrician to run the wires. Also, when you order gas appliances, you do not get credit for the standard electrical appliances. They keep that money. We argued with HB at the time we ordered the house, but they wouldn't budge. We did get credit for the flooring because we wanted to have another product that they don't now offer so why not the appliances? The flooring we want is being installed as we write this. About half of the baseboards that was sent with the house are used with many, many nails sticking out of them from when they were first installed is another house. They were not installed in this house and then removed. Here's the used baseboards that you claim are not used. They still have the nails in them. From the US Department of Energy I copied and pasted it here without any editing How Whole House Fans Work The whole house fan pulls air in from open windows and exhausts it through the attic and roof. It provides good attic ventilation in addition to whole house cooling. Whole house fans should provide houses with 15 to 23 air changes per hour varies with climate, floor plan, etc.check with a professional to determine what is appropriate for your home. The air-change rate you choose depends on your climate and how much you will depend on the whole house fan for cooling. Your explanation of why the factory installed a bathroom fan in place of a whole house fan that we ordered is nonsensical. And here's a picture of the poor quality lumber that this railing is made of. This is only one of several spots I could have taken a picture of. And also check out the end of the boards. Not caulked. None of it is. We didn't complain about the color of the railing, we complained that it wasn't what we ordered, AND it was built using poor quality wood and isn't caulked per industry standards. HB raised the price on us from what was quoted by some 8,000. We only found out the day it was time to sign on the dotted line. So your claim that you held to the price when the factory raised the price on you is just another lie. Three side by side windows don't match. And you refuse to make them all the same."

"We can't express how truly impressed we were with Home Boys and how they conducted business with us. Not only were their products the best quality in the area, the teamwork they displayed while coordinating the many tasks involved with such a project was commendable. They were professional, timely, kind, reasonable, and everyone we worked with went out of their way to help get whatever answer we requested or item completed. Cannot imagine a better experience and we are sincerely grateful for their hard work and quality product. We love the home and have only wonderful things to say about our interactions!"
