"We hired Gordon T Jacob, a family-run contractor in Tacoma, to build a DADU on our property, and the entire experience was outstanding from start to finish. The project was completed right on schedule, and their use of innovative technology made everything incredibly seamless. They use an app that shows the full construction schedule, and it was always up-to-date. Any time something changed, not only was it updated in the app, but we also received a call or textno surprises, ever. Their subcontractors were respectful, professional, and very considerate of our existing home. The design phase was one of the highlights. Working with Mitzi and Lindsey was a dream. They toured us through a recently completed unit, walked us through flooring, roofing, and cabinet samples, and followed up with a detailed breakdown of everything we selected. When I was unsure about paint colors, they literally showed up with paint boards and samples so we could see them in person. That level of care is rare. The family dynamic at Gordon T Jacob is so refreshingeveryone shares the same strong work ethic and values, and you can feel it in how they operate. The job site was cleaned daily; trash was picked up or placed neatly in a trailer. Our property looked like a well-organized construction zone, not an eyesore for our neighbors. Communication was consistently excellent. From the owner to the superintendent, every single person made themselves available and responded promptly. They work with integrity, kindness, and an inspiring can do attitude. We absolutely love our new DADU, and I cant imagine choosing another company for any future building projects. "After calling and emailing multiple contractors we found Gordon T. Jacobs. McKenna quickly reached out to scheduled Chris to come out to our home and thoroughly go through our possibilities with remodeling our older home in phases we were comfortable with financially. He was able to come up with an accurate estimate within a few days and easily scheduled our first phase. Chris Jr has been overseeing our first two projects. Hes extremely easy to communicate with, detail-oriented, and respectful. Our first phase was our full kitchen remodel which included taking down a large brick, load bearing wall and putting in a supporting beam so we had many subs coming in and out. Jr was consistently on site each day with every one of the subcontractors. He always treated each one with such respect and kindness. Because we were living in our home with small children during both phases of construction, a well kept work site meant a lot for us. Each night the site was constantly swept up making sure there wasnt any dangerous objects that our kids would step on when they had to walk out of the house. We also were concerned about overall timing of construction due to the stress of living without a kitchen. Gordon T. Jacobs was fantastic with this. Chris had a very thorough schedule that we had access to and we almost never had an empty day. So the project was completed impressively on time. We would fully recommend Gordon T Jacobs for any remodel. They are knowledgeable, hard working, timely, but most of all they are kind and trustworthy."

"We live in a 110 year old Tacoma house that desperately needed some love and upgrades in our kitchen and bathroom. From the start we felt so at ease and confident in our choice of hiring the team at Gordon T. Jacob for our project. Chris and Mitzi showed us such care in our planning meetings and made sure we had clear communication about the whole process. They understood our budget and worked with us to dream up some beautiful spaces to fit our style and compliment the charm of an old house. They were able to ensure a quick turnaround and timeline that was needed for our family, and they were and continue to be so gracious with their time in helping us make decisions and work through any little changes in plans that came up. "We recently had the pleasure of working with the team at Gordon T Jacob for our home renovation project. Our experience with the team was great, they managed and executed the project very well and the results are excellent. Our house was built in 1991 and had never been updated, with many quirky elements and poorly used spaces. Chris and Mitzi helped us give the entire home a refresh, including all-new flooring, paint, 3 bathrooms, doors, and a show-stopping new kitchen. We absolutely love living in our new space; it feels like a totally new house! Throughout the project, Chris and team brought knowledge and expertise, and the project was smooth and easy. The budgeting process was communicative and collaborative; we were able to identify the high priority and custom items we wanted to invest in and then find other opportunities to simplify and save, so we could maximize our budget and create our ideal home. Chris was so helpful in guiding this process, he has a design eye and a deep understanding of the sub-contractors, processes, and tradeoffs needed to bring our big ideas to life. The team also excels in the project planning and daily to day management, which is critical to the success of any construction project. Everything was managed really well, and our large-scale 2-phase project has been largely on budget and on time, which is a huge accomplishment in itself! Chris did a great job anticipating all the elements and needs, and setting a realistic timeline. Our project manager Christopher Jr was outstanding, super communicative and on the ball with all the pieces that needed to come together. He also got to know our preferences and would proactively anticipate feedback, and propose solutions that were both thoughtful and effective. Mitzi was an excellent partner for all the design and finish elements, and really helped us realize our vision and find great vendors to source materials from. There were so many things to consider, and decisions to make, and we couldnt have done this project without her! We really appreciated the level of care, it was a true team effort and family affair, and we had such a great experience. Our renovation project was comprehensive - nothing had been updated. We wanted to make it more contemporary style throughout, replace all the cherry wood trim and teal carpet, refresh the bathrooms, and totally reinvent the kitchen. In the first phase we updated the upstairs bedrooms and bathrooms, with new carpet and paint, and two fully updated bathrooms. We love the new custom showers and beautiful tile work in the bathrooms, and whole upstairs space looks and feels so much better. In phase two we updated the downstairs living area, laundry, guest bathroom and kitchen. The transformation is amazing! The old kitchen was so wonky and not functional, with lots of weird shapes and no drawers. Chris brought in an outstanding kitchen designer to create a completely reimagined space with a better layout, more storage, way more function - and its gorgeous! The quality of the cabinets, and the craftsmanship of the cabinet install and all the trim and doors, are outstanding. Our home has a lot of challenging corners and they did a great job finishing everything to a high standard. We also updated the flooring, from a mix of wood and carpet to a new manufactured wood, and we are very happy with the material and the installation. We designed a custom herringbone style in the entryway, and Chris and his flooring vendor worked hard to find us the right product at the right budget, and it came out beautifully. Overall, we are thrilled with the results of our project and highly recommend working with Gordon T Jacobs for this type of project. The team is great and we really enjoyed working with them."
